REAL ESTATE COUNSEL (INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR)
Nacelle is a law firm that specializes in providing legal services to renewable energy project developers, owners, and operators in support of the development, financing, construction, and operation of solar, battery energy storage, wind, green fuels, floating solar, and distributed generation projects. Nacelle also provides legal services to data center project developers, owners, and operators in support of the development, financing, construction, and operation of data center projects.
The firm is named after a wind turbine nacelle, which is the part of the turbine that contains generating components, which transform the kinetic energy of wind into electrical energy. Similar to the components of a nacelle, Nacelle’s team, through its efforts, helps to transform a client’s vision into successful project outcomes.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Nacelle is seeking an experienced real estate attorney to lead real estate transactions in connection with the development, financing, construction, and operation of solar, battery energy storage, wind, green fuels, floating solar, and distributed generation projects, as well as the development, financing, construction, and operation of data center projects.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent, detail-oriented, high-accuracy writing skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to project a positive image of the firm and maintain positive relationships.
- Law firm and/or in-house commercial real estate experience.
- Strong grasp of real estate contract terms, and legal and commercial issues relevant to real estate transactions.
- Juris Doctor degree and active bar admission(s).
- Interest in renewable energy projects.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Draft and negotiate real estate agreements, including leases, easements, option agreements, purchase agreements, and other real estate agreements.
- Pull deeds, review property ownership, and draft legal descriptions.
- Review title and survey, address title and survey matters, and draft and pursue title curative documents.
- Lead and support a variety of real estate transactions.
- Advise clients with respect to legal and commercial issues.
- Support project financing and M&A transactions.
